Yo wussup guys
Well i had to rebuild my head due to bent valves. I put in new rocker arms, SS valves, Bronze guides, lifters, and BC springs and cams.
I just got done and now its very loud and sounds like theres no oil in the head.
is this normal or what?

Ps- my only mod is an intake

It is normal for the new lifters to tick for a minute until they fill with oil, the bigger cams will also cause slight valvetrain noise but it shouldn't be that bad.

Have you driven it yet? Sometimes it takes a little bit of driving to "break in" new lifters. If that doesn't work:
Is it ticking loudly? That could mean a couple of things:

1) Maybe one of the rockers are weren't installed perfectly level against the cam lobe.
2) Did you seal the little gasket on the inside/left side of the head? (This was a friend's issue once, it causes low oil pressure...I guess)
3) Did you have a reputable machine shop do the work? Is it possible that the valves weren't set perfectly? (Again, another problem of a friend once)
4) Is it getting oil pressure? (When you take the oil cap off can you see oil covering the cam?
5) Is it in time, or possibly a tooth out?

I'm sure there are more possibilities, but this might be a decent start. Good luck.

-I got a little scared and didnt want to drive it around
i had a very reputable place do the work. The guy builds 10 second cars for some tuner shops around my area. Im positive he did stuff correctl.

How long does it take for Lifters to start working properly?
