If your still having probs, I would def make sure your timing marks are completely perfect.

Something still isn't right with mine, but I dont' think it's timing. I'm getting a P0300, random misfire here and there and every once in a while at idle I can hear the car missing. So idk what's up with that. I've rotated the CAS 180* and the CEL hasn't came back yet, but I can still hear it missing.

I regapped my plugs from .33 to .28 as well. If it comes back, I'll prob replace plugs and wires..

Did you look at the pics of the timing marks? Does it look bad to you? There's no way to get it any closer. It's less than half a tooth off on only one gear as far as I can tell. If I skip a tooth anywhere it'll just get worse. I tried when the engine was on the stand. The adjustments I've made account for more than half a tooth. Each tooth I believe is 7.5 degrees. It's possible that I need more adjustment still.

However, the car feels slower than before. Unless I'm tripping. I'll have to compare some logs. So I probably don't wanna go any further, in fact I might want some overlap back once (if) I pass smog.

Yeah, it was really hard to tell from the pics I saw if the marks were low enough. They may line up, but not be low enough. I know now how important it is to ensure it's perfectly even with the top of the head.

That's what the straight edge is for :) When all 4 line up, due to the laws of geometry, they can't be too high or too low. There's exactly one configuration to make that happen. Since 3 of mine line up and only one is slightly off, I feel ok. According to the ruler the intake was already slightly retarded, and I retarded it a shitload more to make it idle better. And/or the exhaust was slightly advanced, and I advanced it a shitload more anyway. So I don't think my timing belt configuration is hurting me, in fact it helped get a bit more adjustment.

Can someone see anything clearly wrong?

The good news is that I ALMOST passed smog today. Idle HC was a bit over the limit (112 vs 100). That should be easy to fix though, maybe with a little timing or leaning it out just a bit (right now the o2 sensor's got control of it and cycling correctly).
