even if the car went up in flames shouldnt the block still be good ? i mean it is metal

would you want that block in your car? heh.

heating up a metal to those temperatures will warp it... and in performance, 1mm, will make a world of difference.

The block is probably fine.

They can take alot... Hot or cold It also looks more like the fire's heat was elswhere since the block is'nt exactly a great fuel source.

Here we go.... did the guy install an AFPR? When I installed mine i didnt secure the return line well enough and it leaked out. (Luckily I have DSMLink so I was able to test for leaks with the car off(I still had a brother standing next to the car with a fire extinguisher tho)) Anyway, say it leaked down...onto a hot DP...could spark a fire :)

Based on the area with the most fire damage I'm guessing you are right.

That a FPR line leak happened and it caught heat (dp) or a spark and lit. The residual pressure in the system combined with pressure increase in the rail due to heat bypassed or leaked more fuel as it got hotter and sprayed that area of the (no pun) firewall with fuel.

what rowlex said what is afpr is it like the apexi blue screen thing, read my profile, i had greddy e man it must of been that the e man never was the same as my boost gauge at idel my boost gauge read -15 and my e man would say -9 i am pretty sure the com puter was hooked up wrong and that started a fire, who knows to people yea i sell the block should be fine idk no returns though ,LOL :p

I remember in ur previous threads when you were asking us if it was a good idea to buy this car and i said it wasnt a good idea to buy a already modded out car because he says he runs 13s or that ur chances of gettin crankwalk is increased...But shit i didnt think this would happen i mean damn that is soo shitty, i think someone doesnt want you to have a dsm. Anyways I hope you can get back what you lost as much as possible and im glad to here no one was hurt. Good luck man.

And all of you ricers wonder why I tell you not to vent your goddamn BOV's

The shop who tuned your car had the visions after smoking the speed  !!!!!

I would get on E-bay to buy the interior parts and then buy a JDM front clip...
You'll probably spend about $ 4K and then sell the car for maybe $ 9K

I've always have had full insurance with no accidents at fault and the one time I said f$#k it and cancelled I totalled my 93 VTEC lude coming out of a junction so I feel you and hope it'll never happen again!!!!

Sorry about the fire. I personally see a potential rebuild here. but to each his own. :(

Good Luck
Mike

well this week a forensic is coming to my house to determine what casued it, i won't say the price, casue it hurts to much to write, so lets see who wins...lets all guess what casued it, I am saying the greddy e man

I say that something shorted or sparked with the e-manage. I also know nothing about electronics or circuits, so it's a full out guess. Heh.

LOL hey you never know

about the oil pressure gauge i think its a possility becasue it was customized in my cup holder (see in gallery) and it didn't work......And i think the e man casue it never matched up with my autoometer boost gauge, like at idle my boost gauge read 15 vac and the e man read 9 vac

im gonna have to say a spark probably caused it. or maybe heat + gasoline.

:D :talon:

sorry about your loss man, i'd try to rebuild if i was you. but damn, this would make me go nuts. its times like these they invented jack daniels.
:dsm: :talon: :laser:

God I'm sick of hearing about this.
