felt like shooting myself
I'd keep it..
New dash... CF hood... New engine... Really rebuild Etc
Its easier to salvage that then a hard unibody hit.... Alot easier...
Even a stock hood from a RS-GS..... from a yard etc.... But CF you could get away with not painting it...
i have the stock hood in my house, but i neeed alot more then a engine clutch, everything in engine is gone is it possible ?

yea i bet they were, my old gsx they put the front springs on back and and rear on front this place is the worst i should of known not to buy a car that they worked on, but i sold my eclipse and really wanted it

yea i noticed that, i am just trying to figure wtf happenedDSMJim said:Why didn't you have the proper insurance on the car? Your crazy for not insuring your car properly so don't cry too bad, really thats your own fault. Don't say cause it's too expensive cause I'm willing to bet you would gladly pay the cost of that for one year right now if you could knowing they would fix the car.
This is a really good example of why you should always insure your car properly, make sure you have fire and theft and comp on the car minimum. If you want collision it costs but is also a good idea considering.
With that being said, you can salvage your car. Just drop a 6 bolt into and re-do the wiring from a wrecker car. You will have a lot to do but it can be done. Pull the dash out and make sure that everything behind it is ok. I have a feeling that all the wiring behind the dash is totaled. If thats the case then you should just sell it for as much as you can get and move on. Engine wiring is one thing, but that and ALL the wiring behind the dash, thats a whole other story. Getting that fixed and working is a lot of work. Even when you have it done you will have electrical gremlins that take a long time to work out.

Went and checked and some oil had leaked out of the head and ended up burning up on the manifold. And as far as the firefighter responce, do you have a full time department or volunteer/paid on call? If it's volunteer/POC remember that the guys have to drive to the station after hearing the call come in.(I'm a POC) If I ever showed up to a car fire that involved a 1g or 2g eclipse, I would
Now if it was a 3g, I might
J/k....
No. You had a massive short-circuit someplace that closed again after you parked.mitsuclipsegsx said:hey guys look in my gallery the first pic of engine see the oil catch can... i just put that in and was thinken see how close i put it to the therom stat hose think it was hot and melted the plastic on catch can and started a fire?/??
