2G Battery replacement?

Tomorrow im going to buy a battery for my 2g 97 gst spyder but i need to know wich one should i buy!! Any recomendations??

It's mostly biased towards any redtop batteries. Doesn't take much CCA's for these cars to start, and the auto store should have the battery you need listed in their computer. You can ask if they have a red top if it matters to you

If you dont get an optima the only difference in just a standard battery when they cost more is they have more lead in the as they get more expensive so they have more cca's and will last longer. Optima's are by far the best out there in my opinion unless you wanna go lithium but you will be forking over quite a bit of cash for that but they do only weigh like 10 pounds

Optima's last and are very shock resistant and vibration resistant so they usually last longer.

Consumer Reports said Costco batteries offer the best quality-value combination out there. Optima's (which I used to have) were only okay. Too expensive for their lifespan. Optima was bought out and are now made in Mexico so their quality have greatly declined.

And make sure to keep your battery tie-down when you put in your new battery. A lot of people forget and a lot of DSMs have burned to the ground as a result.

I went with a interstate battery. I got a smaller one so I would have more room in the bay. If your getting a battery,maybe its time for a drop or relocation? Here is some threads to help.

This is the best battery you will buy. Hands down. Tried and true and can be completely drained and recharged. My good friend has used his for 8 years and lets it completely die every winter while the car sits and it fires the car right back up after a charge. It is also under $200 and will give you some weight savings

Just bought a battery from Walmart and comes with 3 yr replacement and 2 yrs beyond that it's a pro-rated replacement deal. This is actually the first time I noticed a warrentee and never bothered to save a battery receipt until now. Luckily never had a problem tho. Your current battery has a number/letter combo on it which indicates physical size i believe.
