Thunder Bay,
Well, a bit of tiem has passed and I have been going insane trying to fix this problem, my battery not charging. I replaced the alternator today, thinking it would do the trick but the car does the exact same thing as it did wiht the old alternator in. When I charge the battery with an external plug-in charger, I can drive for a while, but the battery starts getting drained and eventually it gets to the point where the car accelerates at the rate of a Geo Metro. The car will eventually stall out, and I can't get it started because theres not enough power to start it up again. What else could it be? Maybe a relay or fuse or something? I don't know what I should check, I'm so frustrated with the Talon I just feel like taking a sledgehammer to it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you tried to replace the battery, if not then try that it may be that the battery is no good, also check the wires that go from the alternator to the battery, and check the relay to see if it working correctly

The battery is fairly new, I bought it in March. And now the alternator is new as well. I'll try replacing the alternator relay, but if that doesnt do it it would probably be a wiring problem???

You may want to take the advice to have your battery checked. The next step would be to check the fusible link. Its the 80 amp fuse in the engine bay compartment in the fuse box. If that don't work then i would suggest checking and replacing the wire that runs from the alt. to that fuse box. Good luck and i hope you get it figured out :)

something is draining the power from the battery, and if it is new, chances are that you dont need to test it becuase it has/and is holding a charge. The post before me said to check the fuse box, see if something is blown, and drawing power from the battery to make it loose a charge. good luck.
