Batt. Died Overnight?

Ok, so I just got a new gst, I brought it home and parked it. the next day I went to start it and it had a lot of trouble turning over, but it started and was fine. Now I tried to start it today and it wont even click, my interior lights go out when I turn the key and I have a volt gauge that shows my batt. is dead now. It had a full charge when I got it and I believe that the alt. is working well. The car has a lot of electrical stuff and an aftermarket alarm. Why would the car just loose the charge? Nothing is on that I can see.

You need to hook up a tester to the battery to show if there is a current draw somewhere that isn't supposed to happen.

Won't the aftermarket alarm draw it all the time? I'm just not sure what should and shouldn't draw a charge when the car is off.

battery could be bad. sometimes they end up with bad cells and just discharge themselves. the hubby's did that. i hooked it up to the tester at work and watched that sucker drop .1v one by one. and you figure over a couple hours, that adds up to a lot of volts gone :\ and that was with nothing hooked up to it.

The alternator also could be dragging it down mine was doing that and after testing the battery it was the alternator and DSMS are notorious for bad alts. I would really recommend just puting a 96-97 galant ls alternator on it anyways even if it is not the alt it give out more volts fits perfectly and lasts longer. and it oculd be the alarm mine was doing that and i had to have it re installe for some reason. hope all works out.

So I called the previous owner today and he thinks he knows why the battery is dead. The headlight was broken when I bought the car and I repaced it and the wreck that broke th headlight knocked the sensor that tells if the hood is shut down somewhere and I don't know what it looks like or where it shold be mounted. Can anyone verify that this could cause the problem? If so can I get anybody to post a picture of where this sensor mounts and what it looks like? Thanks.
