i think they were just talking about the flow capabilities of the turbos themselves. Of course the 2.3 beats the 2.0, whether or not theres a turbo attached to it. Peak power is only half the story, power under the curve is the other half.
 
Question: I was under the impression that a slightly bigger engine would flow more air allowing you to take advantage of bigger turbos in keeping the turbo in the effective efficiency, without having to crank-up the boost. Just trying to learn. :thumb:
 
A 2.3 and 2.0 in N/A form the 2.3 may make 25-30hp more. Attach a turbo to the motors and you are limited to the turbo. yes spool time definately increases and the power comes on sooner, but you are also then limited to being able to rev at 8k or so max. Now the power these motors can make with the forced induction correalates with the turbo size. For example we have (turbo A) that has a top flow rating around 350 hp. on a 2.3 or a 2.0, thats the max power it can make. now if you take a big block thats making 400 hp, turbo A isnt going to help that motor at all, it will actully decrease performance in that situation. Thats were turbo selection per cu/in and airflow, boost and power desired becomes very important. The stroker motors dont really give you anymore power numbers, just moves the power curve lower in the rpm band. I hope this helps
