basic wiring question....

ive got some exposed metal in some of the wires under the steering wheel from former clips and having tapped stuff in down there, how can i cover that exposed metal without electrical tape? can i use glue of some sorts or will it melt, or anything else i can use that i can apply on top of the expose metal? thanks.

If you can, get some shrink tubing to cover the bare wire. If you can't get tubing over the exposed area then hot glue would work as well. I highly doubt any wire in the interior has enough resistance through it to to become hot enough causing glue to melt.

yea its just wires ive previous tapped into, no way to get tubing around them. ill just use super glue. another question: can i use super glue at the open end of wires ive tied/solder/shrink wrapped together, instead of electrical tape?

i wouldn’t use super glue... that would only provide a thin layer of protection, not to mention you would just be asking for a mess... just disconnect the plug from the one end and pull the wire out of the connector so that you can slide a piece of heat shrink over it, then put it back into the connector. just do one wire at a time so you don’t get your wires mixed up...
