Edmonton,
Read several different posts and no matter what I can't get my base fuel trim to richen up
Installed walbro 255 pump, PTE 680cc insectors, MAF translator and 3" Mas
Car runs and pulls great with basic suggested setting on the translator for my set up.
But no matter what I i do to my base adjustment ...

My fuel trim not just sits pegged at 199 While holding a steady speed
And locked at 100 on downhill deceleration
under moderate acceleration it will bounce rapidly from 140 to 170
it will drop as low as 66 mark very briefly between shifts
And of coarse my knock sensor reads right up to 43 under strog acceleration

I've milked the dials on my translator until the car won't run, Ive even tried a new ECM and I can't get my fuel trim to respond with any predictability.

I'm following the factory instructions and also tried various translator tunning guides some of the guru's have posted in the forums. It just won't dial in .

Any suggestions are greatly apreciated

Can you post a log? Have you check the knock sensor for any leakage? What about proper torque on the knock sensor? There may be something wrong with your logger based on the FT numbers you posted. The 1g doesn't have that much of an adjustment range with the FT's.

What logger program are you using? Can you post a 3rd gear pull from 2.5k to redline at WOT. Just log timing, knock, O2 and rpm. Also, a log at idle showing FT's and O2 (Front) would be helpful. Any CEL's?

Well I went out this mornig and logged a few runs both on DSM Logger and on MMCD
but unfortunatly I'm having trouble with my hot sync and can't get the logs uploaded to my computer to post them

so here goes starting from a steady cruise in third at 2500 rpm
RPM..................knock...............timing.............O2 voltage...FT O2.......Throttle pos.

2500 rpm-----------0---------------30 Deg-----------.47 V-----154 %------no acceleration

2687-----------------3--------------26-----------------.86--------100---------WOT

3000----------------39--------------7-------------------.9--------100---------WOT

3500----------------42--------------1------------------.96--------100---------WOT

4000----------------40--------------3------------------.94--------100---------WOT

4500----------------38--------------4------------------.96--------100---------WOT

5000----------------36--------------6------------------.94--------100---------WOT

5500---------------34--------------12------------------.94-------100----------WOT

6000----------------32-------------14------------------.94-------100----------WOT

6500----------------28-------------14------------------.94-------100----------WOT

7000----------------28-------------13------------------.92-------100----------WOT

6000-----------------0-------------45------------------.71-------100----------THROTTLE CLOSED

hope this will suffice I'll post some idle values next

Wow, that's a ton of knock. I wouldn't go very far with your tune, until you get the knock problem solved. If it's real knock, that can be very dangerous. Check out the knock sensor and make sure it isn't leaking any "goo". Also, if the knock sensor is torqued down too much, you will get a ton of phantom knock. Do you have access to race gas?

In the log you posted, can you tell me what the TPS reading was on the logger, such as 97% as opposed to WOT. Even though you had your foot to the floor, that doesn't mean that the TPS was opening all the way. You can also drop O2 trim from the log since that isn't necessary.

Have you checked all the normal stuff, such as base timing, fuel pressure, plug gap, leak check, ECU, etc?

Well I'll check the knock sensor out next .
This is my third ecu but I think I have one or two more on the shelf I could try.
By Leak test I'm guessing you mean compressor outlet to intake piping and yes all good.
I've done so many 4g63's this year I don't recall where this one was at for base timing
and I know I haven't recheked fuel press since i installed the new pump
So I guess It wouldn't hurt to hit the basics again tomorrow morning and then I'll post again after that Thanks for taking the time to help out it's realy apreciated.
I've done tons of stock repairs on these 1G cars but this is my first crack at tunning so I'm pretty green and definately a little humbled by it for now... Thanks again
