I am about to do a timing belt of two talons. Both TSI models. One FWD, and the other AWD. My question is should I keep the balance belt or eliminate it at all? What are the pro's and cons of eliminating it. I have no clue what happens after it gets removed. Thanks

You would also need to install a stubby shaft in place of the rear balance shaft and rotate the bearings for the front balance shaft to block the oiling holes.

You can't just leave the balance shaft belt off.

Here's a nice write up of the proper way to do it.

Removing them will increase the interior vibration a bit but it's one less belt to break that can mess up your head if it tangles with the timing belt. It will also increase oil pressure as well so you'll want to check it out as well afterwards.

Timing belt kit comes with the BS removal kit or you can buy the kit seperate.

Okay, I heard that they can be a connection and a rougher idle if you have no balance belt and a lightened flywheel. What is your opinion of that?
