alright well im new to the whole dsm thing i bought this car for 400 dollars in muleshoe texas. Me and one of my friends that lives in Lubbock helped me put it back together and running before i moved back home to Odessa. The car has been running alright i need to do somethings its a 91 eagle talon tsi awd with some small things done but i have noticed that it idles up and down real fast and that im gettin about 10 in hg outta my gauge at idle and i heard the stock dsm with stock cams was saposed to get about 20in hg. with the car idleing i can hear a leak around the throttle body so i change out the tb gasket but still had the same problem. I can feel it sucking in when i put my thumb over the idle screw but nothing changes car still runs the same. Soooo i ordered a new tb and im gonna see if that ones just bad or warped or something but if that doesnt do it then i was wondering if anyone else knew if these cars had a problem with leaks around that area.

THanks, Aaron

Maybe try changing out the throttle body seals... they get old after a while and can leak. i'm not sure who else has them, but i know machv has them for sure..

if that doesn't work, take out the BISS and replace the o ring that sits on there. it's a #5 o-ring. :thumb:

cool yeah ill try that im waiting on that new throttle body  one of these days it will get here but in the mean time i have read alot thats on this site so hopefully i will figure it out. for sure that stock maf has to go so im thinking a 3in gm that might solve my prob with the idle surge to.

I hope you didn't spend much on a new throttle body as I doubt the unit itself is the cause of your problem. It could be any of the emmisions vaccum lines running in that area, the BISS oring, tb elbow, etc.

Look into building yourself an intake pressure tester and it will help locate all of your leaks.
