pistons and rods are new. PTW is .0035 so it's not slap. gets louder as the oil warms up. cams are comp 264/272

maybe im deaf, but it just sounds like a cammed car to me mine sounds very similar. although i dunno what to tell you if its getting louder as it gets warmer. take your valve cover and cover your engine bay with garbage bags and start it up and see if you can tell whats causing the noises. are the cams regrinds?

new doesn't matter. know two PPL with fresh 2.4l builds for their evos. on startup had bad noise one was wrist pin other was piston. but from the vid sounds like lifters thoughi can barely hear it

I agree that it sounds like lifters. It doesn't sound like my lifters, but you also have different cams/exhaust etc.

Hope that's the case!

I had that same noise when I first was breaking in my motor. My engine builder told me since I have a upgraded valve train with cams prepare to hear them.

I'd love to try them, but $200 is a bit steep.

I have confirmed it's not rod knock. Next time I have the valve cover off, I'm bleeding and cleaning them again.

i just got off the phone with trevor at shep trans, and my trans is commin back with in 5 day shipping!! yay! for those that are curious about recommended fluid for high HP, he is recommending 2 qt of liht weight shockproof and 1 qt of MT90 for a raiting up to 550-600hp. and if it was cold and i didnt like that combo, a 2qt MT-90 and 1qt lightweight shockproof might be a better option. he was telling me that MT-90 alone is simply not enough protection for your internal parts at that high of power. just an FYI to everyone!

Edit: those bearings look pretty good for being used. glad thats not the problem, id still replace them though
