hi all,

well i just installed a lowering springs for my 96 gst and now i really have a very bad shake only when i turn to the right and this only happen if i accelerate while turning. if i dont accelarate there is no shake and its only when i turn to the right.

my car is not very low i just lowered it around 2 and half inches.

i changed my bearings with new ones for the front side and also made new allignments.

what it could be ??? and it happens at any speed even if i am at 20 KpH and i accelerate to the right it will shake ???

wheel hop, something rubbing, alignment could still, be off, body roll, bad tire balancing. Just out of curiosity are you sure you got everything tight again and the tie rod ends and ball joints are all ok. This kind of problem is something that i think a person need to take the tire off and recheck everything.

did you do the alignment or did a shop?

no rubbing sound and no wheel hop, the shop made the alignment and the wheel bearings

my car drives up to 100 Miles with no shake at all if straight but once i turn right and i accelerate it shakes like hell.

we removed the tire at the shop 3 times and checked everything but could not find the problem?? one thing i did not mention to you guys that the lowering springs for the front side is different than the loweirng spring of the back side. and the ride height is different its lower from the front.

shall i just put my springs back?? or what do you advise ?

Firstly, lowering a 2g dsm 2.5 inches is really really excessive. I wouldn't be surprised if by being so low is contributing to your problems. Anyways, the the problem is almost certain to be in the install/alignment/wheel bearing/suspension components.
What springs and shocks are you using? Did the shop do the entire install, or did you? If the shop did it, make them find the problem.

Also, almost all DSM lowering springs keep the rear a bit higher, some more than others.

You did use new shocks as well right? Most lowering kits are a 1 1/2" or 2" drop. How are your bushings looking like?

Good luck going over any bumps or having to get towed. For me with stock height, I almost scrape getting onto a flat bed truck.

No need to rag on him for going so low. Its not even that low to begin with. Ive dropped my 2gs more than that on new and old struts and never have had the problem he is describing. So focus more on being helpful.

mine it kind of did the same thing it would vibrate some what on turns but it was more of a bumping sound, it felt like my wheel was going to come off . found out it was my upper ball joint and lower shock bushing were worn out, but it would drive straight and smooth until i turn. and no longer a problem after replacing them.

P.S. and the funny thing is that i check my suspension and nothing really moved much nor was really loose?

guys do you think that its AXLE RELATED ? the vibration only happens when i accelarate , if i turn right without pressing the peddal then no vibration???

please help me i am out of ideas now , changed new shocks struts springs. and put new tires. but still its shaking when i turn to the right. and when turning to the right does it mean that the left side is worn or the right side? because usually its the oposite side.

thanks guys for the help.

I have a 97 GSX with a very similar problem. If I keep the gas pedal at a certain throttle everything is fine. Time I begin to give it a little gas the entire car starts to shake and feels as if it is about to fall apart. It also does this when letting off the gas and rolling to a stop. When I make a sharp left turn the noise it makes begins to lessen due to releasing pressure of the front left side. Seems to me I have more than one problem. This car also has been lowered a good bit. The guy I got it from did it, so I'm not sure exactly how low it has been dropped. I honestly do not think its the suspension. I'm thinking more of the font left axle maybe even the right side as well and possibly a front bearing. I'm going to take a look at it this weekend when I get some time. I'll let you know what I find.
