bad misfire please help

new plugs, wires, ign. coil, checked plugs swapped in old coil (still good) and visually inspected wires, same issues occur. car has no power from idle to around 4300 rpm then gains power again. code scanned for codes 12-airflow sensor, 21-coolant temp sensor (this is new though and have reset codes), and 55-idle air control valve (have heard 55 is end scan code though). i've heard computers are a big issue in the dsm's so could that be a possibility? also thinking bent valve or bad injector, not sure what to think if anyone has had similar issues though please help this is my dd cant be down too long. car is 95 talon esi 420a

If youre worried the ecu is bad, pull it and give it a visual check. It sounds like the MAF and IAC is either bad or crummy, based on the codes you have written out. Have you checked both?

I agree it sounds like MAF to me as well. try to clean it first with some MAF cleaner or swap it out for a known good one.

going to be doing a compression check this evening after work, i'm gonna feel stupid im sure but where is the maf on this car??? i know iac is on tb and there is another small sensor above it...... is that the maf??? i'm used to mafs being big and in near the filter in the intake tube, sorry for my slight stupidity guys

Youre right you dont have a MAF but instead a MAP. i didnt realize you have a 420a car. sorry.

yea i'm sorry i have a 420a car too but yea is that the map sensor above iac on the tb?

replaced the throttle body and both sensors because my tb had a small bolt broke where the iac sensor was. car is running better still has a weird lopey idle after driving then stopping and sitting at a drive thru. no more cel and no codes. what the hell kind of gel crap did they put in the ecu i wanted to get it apart and check for bad caps but not exactly sure what to do about the gel and removing the board. has anyone done this on a 2gnt?
