I have a stock MAF on my car and I just did a complete engine rebuild. I have had nothing but problems .. I just got my ecu back because it was all jacked up. Well i pluged it back in and the car will not idle. when I first start it up it goes to about 2k then tries to go back down to idle but just dies when it gets to about 900 or so. and if I give it gas it's all F***** up like it has a delayed reaction??? all 4 plugs are black and smell like fuel. How do you tell if your MAF is bad??????

sounds familiar i was thinking about checking mine to see if thats whats wrong with it... you might try just disconnecting it all together and seeing if will idle then...

has anyone got a way to test the MAF???? My car will only run for like maybe 1 1/2 sec or so LOL!!! i can keep it running if I just keep tapping the gas over and over..... but if I try to floor it or just hold it steady it dies as well???? I really need some help here. Also I have already ohmed my ISC and it had 29 ohms on all pins. I have blocked off my EGR... tries messing with the BISS... sealed the BISS..... I had my ECU rebuilt thinking that was the pronblem(and it was bad) that didn't fix it??? Please some one help me out here.... I know some one knows something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i found how to test the MAF
it said it was supposed to be like 2.8 ohms and it was nothing until i put the meter on 20K ohms which is a lot then it read like 3.7k ohms which is wrong.... so i left it disconnected and started the car and the mofo idled pretty much perfect.... i let it idle for a while then plugged the MAF back in and the car stumbled and died! So would that mean the MAF is bad?????

so ur car idle perfect with ur maf unplugged?

well it wasn't starting at 2k and going down ...down.. down dead! it started right up at about 1200k then idled around 800-1000 up and down a little... i let it do that for about a min then pluged the maf back in and it just stumbled a little then died! So does this mean that my MAF is bad or what?
