I have had this problem before with my old 16g. This morning i bought some maf cleaner (yes i know you shouldnt spray anything in your maf but this is proven to work). my car has been bogging at 4000rpm it runs great apart from that. I am almost 100% sure it is my maf, but what can cause 2 mafs to go bad in 3 months? It doesnt seem normal to me. If anyone can help it would be great!!:thumb:

........did u check to see if you had any "blow by" getting to the MAF (oil)....that will kill one quick( i know) also a bad short or bad ground wire will do it.
If you find that you have oil there, you may wanna look into getting a new PCV valve, also if you are running it open, that will fry one as well...there again, i found this out the hard way when running a "short ram" and not using an air filter or anything.....check into those things and get back with me...and you are right, that "cleaner" will clean that wallet out as well dude...

ya i changed my hose once i got my new turbo set up. That was part of the reason, im buying a whole new intake system anyway with filter, my filter now is really dirty and making my intake all black. Ill let you know but i did a wot pull tonight and it felt AMAZING wheel spin in 3rd kind of excessive though! Hope this doesnt happen again tomorrow. thanks for your help dude:hellyeah:

I agree on the wiring check and ground integrity. A miswired 1G-2G MAF plug blew up 2 MAF units before I caught my problem a while back. All it took was 5V to the wrong pin and a signal wire feeding the ground for a moment. Finally realized the fool who sold me the plug wired things backwards and I had to reverse the connector to set it right.

.......now by black, you mean dirty, or oily!? the hard thing is trying to figger out the cause, there are so many different things that can go wrong and make the MAF go nuts

Ya, its dirty. My car runs amazing but sometimes in boost it jumps. Like I said I have already had a bad maf and I know the signs, this time though it doesn't always do it.
