I am still getting some pretty bad gas mileage.

I am only getting about 19.7 mpg with mostly city driving shifting at 4k.
I have already replaced my front O2 sensor and am looking to replace the fuel filter.

I have a 99gst with about 55k miles on it. Should my fuel filter already be bad?

What else should I check or change? I have NKG plugs and Accel wires are on the way.

Thanks,
Nathan

Not that this applies to any of you but a friend of mine was crying about his gas milage. I took a ride with him and figured part of the reason. He shifts at 3500 thru 4000 rpms LOL. I shift at 2000 to 2500 rpms. He was like damn you car is better on gas then mines

Once you start building boost your MPG is going to start going down. Being in boost is going to waste more fuel.

So what is an average mileage for a 2g gs-t?
I sure hope it is better than 20

23 MPG city / 31 MPG highway for manual. 20 MPG city / 27 MPG highway for automatic.
This all depends on how you drive your car.

Remember the search button is your friend.

I dont boost much at all, not very often do i hit much boost. I cant find rubber piping that will fit over the boost leak checker i bought. No one has anything that size.

Well the way i see it your car is not stock so it is abvious your gas milage is going down, more air flows more exits so more fuel burns simple math, plus its a 9 yrs old engine too. I would be happy if i got 20 mpg, i think mine gets 15-16.

some people forget that they have a sports car and that its not going to be a prius by any means. if you dont like the mpgs get a car that has better mpgs. I always love when ppl in the big suvs complain about mpgs.

Wow, if your not going to have anything helpful to say then just dont say anything at all. Plus i am not even get average milage for my car.

Check to make sure your tires are always inflated properly. Also use 10w-30 motor oil and stay out of boost. If possible throw in some injector cleaner in the tank.

I just seafoamed my car, i used only half the can though, should i use the whole thing? I found out when i did that, my manifold looks like it is leaking cause lots of smoke was coming from that area. So i think it is cracked, so i need a new one probably.

Never used seafoam but i'd assume that you'd use the whole can of it to get the best results.....also i cant seem to find "SEAFOAM" anywhere up here where im at...anything close to the same that i can get up here?

Cant get seafoam in canda due to the fact that it doesnt have French written on it. Im quite suprised that we have it here since there is no spanish written on the bottle.

I used the whole can let the car sit for about 10-15 mins then ran it smoked like crazy for about 5-10 miles but ran really well.

ok wtf i have 129000mi w/ intake and ill put in $10 of gas, and at $3.75 per gallon of premium it gives me 2.660gal. and i will restart my odometer thing or w.e. and i wil get at most 35 miles before the gas light is completley on and the needle is on the E. And this is WITH coasting and shifting at 3-3.5RPM and 10 miles of highway eachday and the rest is city. Why is is so bad? also on a full tank of half city and half highway driving ill get at most 250miles. Ive heard of people with moded cars do better than that. PLease any help will be appreciated!
