My car was a little over 1/8th tank of gas. Started the car up, let it warm up. I start to drive to the gas station. Its only about 5 minutes away. On the way there my car starts to feel like its cutting out a little violently. I soon press in the clutch, car dies and I pull over. I figure i'd check if my intake came off or a coupler maybe blew off. Sure enough everythings fine. I get a gas can and get some gas. Get back to my car and now have a 1/2 a tank of gas. I turn the key a few times to prime it back up since it ran out of gas. Car starts right up. I start to drive for a few minutes and it'll start cutting out again. So I let off the gas and press in the clutch and its fine. The car will drive fine and it'll randomly start to cut out until I let off the gas.

Do I have a bad fuel pump now?

Well it is definately possible if you run the tank low all the time as the fuel pump uses fuel to cool itself. When mine went bad I couldnt get it to stay running,it would just sputter and die. Does it do this underload? or even just at idle? It could even be ignition components going bad or a boost leak and you are mistaking it as the fuel pump.

Nope, I did a little pull getting into full boost and it didnt do it. I'm driving around my neighborhood and it seems like its getting a little better. It's not acting up as much but still does. I wouldn't think it would be anything else because I drove the car alot yesterday and it didnt start acting up until I got this low on gas.

Yesterday I went back out to my car to start it. Would not fire up, it just kept turning over. I figured i'd attempt today, it fired up after the second try. I let it warm up for a little bit, get in the car to take off. As soon as I pressed the gas it just dies. Wouldn't start up after that.

big possibility.. umm do u have access to a computer to check for codes? if so run a check and see if you can run the fuel pump while the car is off that's what i did and i found the problem. or you could pull it out and run a manual check

Yesterday I took the gas cap off, let a friend listen for a whine while I turned the key to the on position. No whine at all. I'm thinking fuel pump. I'll test for fuel pressure tomorrow and if it dont work i'll most likely pull the fuel pump out.
