Hello guys. From reading threads I have narrowed down that my fiav is bad on my tb on my 91 tsi. I was wondering if I can just take the lower half of the throttle body off of my 93 eclipse non turbo gs (fiav) and swap it with the lower half of the throttle body on my 91 tsi? Sorry, but I could not find this info in all the threads I was able to read. If it is possible is there any downsides or anything else I need to do in order to make it work and not have any negative effects? Also how do I tell if my talon has a turbo or n/t throttle body? Thanks.

What you need is a FIAV bypass not block off plate. If you install blockoff plate you have to get rid of the ISC and i don' think you 'll want that. JMF sells them. That is a good idea considering some times antifreeze leaks inside IM and you know liquids are not compressable.

I know I have the fiav bypass option. I just didnt want to buy it if I can just switch lower halves. What is a good idea, me switching the lower halves or the bypass plate? So am I okay to do this with no ill effect and anything else I need to do in order to make it work? Thanks.

Either option should work assuming the fiav on the tsi throttle body is functioning properly.
When taking off the lower half of the throttle body I would suggest using an impact wrench because those philips head screws will strip easily. I replaced mine with hex cap screws when I put it back together so I wouldnt have this problem in the future.

Thanks. I dont know if you read my first post wrong, but my tsi fiav is what is bad. I am taking a good functioning fiav from my 94 gs. Actually I have taken those screws off before with one of those screwdriver tools that you tap and it has a spring loaded head that will rotate in the direction desired. Thanks again.
