yeah I just started the rebuild. I found out what happend is I broke to rings. So I bought my 500 ford probe, it was a steal. So here is what I'm doing. Complete bottom end rebuild, stand alone fuel, bigger injectors, and cranking the boost.

New parts

Megasquirt v 2.2 with 2gnt mods
Precision 780cc injectors
JE pistons .20 over 8:8:1 compression
Eagle rods
Cometic HG

Spec stage 4 clutch
Greddy Type RS BOV
Prothane Motor mount inserts

So my goal this time is obviously not to break the car but break the 300 hp range. I don't think that will be too hard. The drive train will be good to go but Ill wait a bit longer I want to get some better axels to prepare for slicks when I get them. Im doing some misc. powder coating of the valve cover, IC pipes, manifold and turbine housing as well. I really would like to get a bigger compressor wheel and housing to support higher levels of boost but we will see how everything else goes. Future plans maybe for later this summer, external wg, head work and bigger turbo.

Sounds like you're going to have a beast my friend..All that will be left is having the head built, port/polished..Even though HRC has been running theirs on stock head(I believe).

Hah funny you mention i sent my head to the machine shop to be inspected my valves were at 80% so I got a 3 angle valve job and new seals so my head will flow pretty nicely and I would like cams in the future.

Still waiting on my f'in parts to come because Concept Illusions lost my 1600 order and is trying to find it. But my megasquirt and injectors are here. I am considering a GT 35r turbo if I don't do spring break and then my setup would be a true monster. I am not worried about traction because the car is not setup for drag, more the other kind of racing:notgood: But I really don't do that that much to begin with:rolleyes:

Yeah my motor is out and waiting for the pistons so Ill get some pics ASAP
 
OK update:

Got everything back from the machine shop the head was nice aswell as the block. They also mounted the pistons. My megasquirt came aswell. Does anyone think I can break 350hp with my setup if tuned properly. That is my goal anyways.
 
I hope so! I've got about the same setup as you but some porting and polishing done as well. Don;t forget Cams if you want more HP. I've got Crane Turbo Grind. Ill be boosting sometime soon, so I'll let you know where my numbers go when I'm done. It can give you a rough estimate.
 
hmm...how much boost are you planning on running? I see you possibly breaking the 300 mark with a good tune, just don't forget that 350hp is no joke. Why exactly did you get such huge injectors? Megasquirt and 550's would have taken you upwards of 20psi or so. My MS is currently in the works ( ;) ), and I'll be pushing ~10 pounds on my freshly rebuilt to stoc specs block. Bench racing is fun ROFL
 
I am interested to see were this goes..because I also am rebuilding my motor again..got everything out and tore down.., so any ways. I need to get off my ass and order parts how was CI's shipping time? I am thinking about buying parts from them. Thanks
 
There shipping time SUCKS major crap...but they have good prices. I know they are busy, but they don't always keep the best communication. I got my pistons, rods, TB bore all from them. It took almost a month and a crappy bore job, but I got my parts. Hope this helps. Greenmeanie99...you better brake 300 with that setup...or I will be disappointed. ROFL Seriously though I think that 300 is attainable especially with that turbo, BB I presume? I am thinking about going msns and a t3/t4 turbonetics 60 trim DBB to add to my setup, so we will see. Yours is going to be one sick ride my friend. :rocks:
 
The answer is Im using ms to control boost. 15psi street and 22 race.

The turbo is non BB BTW Cams are in my future as well as a bigger turboOMG

A guy I know that owns a shop called High PSI motorsports. He has tuned what of the top HP DSM's on the forum RDRKT he just made 600+AWHP and the guy has been tuning cars for years.:rocks:
 
not to really bust your balls, but that means nothing to me. he can tune 4g63's all day long, that doesn't necessarily mean I'd let him even touch my car ya know. what all kind of experience has he had with megasquirt was more of my concern...doesn't really matter if he plays with an safc or dsmlink every day, ya feel me.
 
Well from what I understand regardless what kind of EMS you use basic concepts of fuel MAP and basic tuning are relatively the same.
 
Ok finally I have saved up enough to finish paying for labor/tuning

Whats left.

The pistons are already mounted to the rods.

The bottom end needs re-assembled and attatched to the cylinder head.

VC needs to come back from powdercoating.

Clutch

Hooking up MS

Re-installation of longblock

Tuning.

This will start next week. Ill snap some pics for yas
 
what kind of pistons and rod did you get? did you get anything else for the block?
