Back fire in 3rd at high boost

Hay i raced a z28 the other day and when i hit 3rd at about 14 lbs my car hesitated and back fired and it only happens in 3rd .. im not sure if it happens in 4th i didnt want to go that fast... I think it might be pluggs or wire and im not getting enough spark... i was wondering if it could be somthing else... and if it could be that what kind of pluggs do you use? i almost bought a set of uraniam plugs but they where 14 $ a piece, but are they worth it?

Go with a set of NGK BPR7ES and gap them to .028. Whatever you do, don't bother with fancy plugs. The NGK's work the best and they'll get the job done. You might also want to replace the wires if that hasn't been done in the last year or so. Remember that if your gap is too wide, you'll blow out the spark and that can cause the hesitation you're experiencing.

Also, if the car felt like it hit a brick wall, check for boost leaks that could be triggering fuel cut.

Yes i won the the guy made up some bs excuse about having bad rocker arms and stuff..... he had flowmaster stickers all over his car too... i guess his stickers didnt help

Ha what a way to get around the rules to tell a kill story. If new plugs and wires don't work, definitely check for boost leak.
