Back...again...I guess

I joined the site last year (about September) after I purchased a 95 GSX. I bought it from a coworker's son who serves USMC and was deployed. The car was slammed to the ground so my first order of biz was to get the appropriate springs on it. I should have been worried about getting the title
I did all of the routine maintenance (oil change, fluid flushes, etc.). The car also had Vert Doors (w/busted shocks) that needed work as well. I got all of that fixed up, the alternator went out on me. Around this time it got cold, so I put my DSM dreams on hold for the winter (plus I still lack the title). Now I've got the alternator on (need to change starter now), doors working, decent ride height etc. Once I get my title I should be ready to roll! Hope to have some pics out (going to just get an abandoned vehicle title!!

Sweet! YEA i just got a DSM as well, im having to do alot of work on it due to the previous owners lack there of but i know in the long run, it will be a sweet ride.

Very true!! But I let it sit for a while when the alternator went out. Now I need to replace the starter. Once that's done I'm driving! Skip a title! HAHA

you could always do the "title swap" trick. Buy a junk car, swap the dash from the junk car into your good car, and title it as the junk car. Or the more legal way would be to buy a shell with a title, swap your engine and whatever else it needs to the shell, and title the shell that you just fixed.

The seller is USMC and got deployed to AUS. He had his folks (my coworkers) sell it for him. Feds shipped his title to his address after he got shipped off, & wouldn't forward to his folks.
In MO you can file an abandoned vehicle title request, so that's what I'm doing now. Should have it in about a month (lots of pprwork).
