I have a 91 GSX with a good engine and drivetrain, but the chasis is not exactly tip top. I could get a gs/rs shell for next to nothing. Considering I have all the parts already and the patience and time, would the AWD drivetrain bolt up to the gs/rs chasis? any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Nothing like a complete tear down to keep me busy this fall anyway.

No, it's not a straight swap. The underside of the car is vastly different. Not to mention there is an extra crossmember in the front of the AWD cars which FWD does not have. But for one thing there is the driveshaft tunnel. And the fuel tank area is also a bit different.
