Just picked up a power steering pump from autozone because my stock one is leaking. Anyways I got the stock one off then open the new one and noticed its all different. Nothing fits into the new one. The new one is black and does not have the nipple for the little hose. Anyone else go thru this? It got too dark to work and I needed to get home so I just cut the belt because there was no way to take it off and now I'm running with no ps and it blows.

I just went through this with my recently bought 1g....I took the old pump to the auto parts store and matched up this o-ring with a behind the counter assortment ..
No leaks at all now..I did get a M?? crush washer for the top too...

I bet you have to transfer parts over like the valve and low pressure line. I think I had to do that when I picked up a reman for an emergency at the track.

The stock one is no longer available to me anymore. I took it apart because I was having trouble getting the pulley off and now it's in pieces and I'm not so sure how to put it back together. Can I make this autozone one work? I don't understand how any of these hoses are supposed to be attached to it tho

They sell several different pumps for varying years of 2g's. Don't ask me why, as I haven't looked into the differences. It could be as simple as Cardone (yep, that's who rebuilds them for Autozone) putting it in the wrong box. Call in, get them to transfer another one into the store (they probably don't have another in stock), and then take your current one in.

If you took your old one in for a core already, call them ASAP and have them try and pull it out of the core pile in the back. Tracking down the correct one is a whole lot easier when you can set them side by side.
