ok i own a 95 gsx auto and i was curious is it possible to do a peel out at least I tryed my hardest i was on a very steap hill holding brake to 3 grand and nothing and it was raining! any ideas

I wouldn't go near a burnout with AWD, let alone an automatic. On my GSX, which is 5 sp., I can the back end out around turns and get the smoke and squealing but I wouldn't be doing it if it was automatic.

awd is made for grip, trying to do a "burnout" will only cause damage to your drivetrain. with that said i dont think its gonna be very easy with an auto cause you dont get the "hit" of a clutch.

Try with the e-brake on reving the car to about 3-4k in neutral and then drop it into drive. You probably won't have an e-brake anymore but you'll def. get a burnout :)

AWD + burnout = not good things. Save it for a mustang

i agree, if you want to do burnouts so bad to impress little girls and your friends, than ill trade you for my 95 TSi FWD, you can do burnouts all day long (not even trying)..

.. and lets not get into when its raining or wet roads. :thumbdown

If you really want to do this then just do this....

go into neutral rev up to lik 7 grand or around there... n then shift into drive, now let me tell you, you will be messing up your car... but i have burnt out in various cars this way... dodge caravans, 200sx's, anything you can imagine this can be done... my moms van is AWD, and i've had the tires just bursting with smoke...
If you really want to do this just to play around one day, go ahead...
But dont make it into a habit... buy a RWD car if u wanna burn out for no reason :), me and my friends were thinkin about buyin a cheap crap RWD car and putting on some cheap 50 dollar tires with no grip for burning out use only :)
You now have the knowledge to burn out....

Use it wisely  :shhh: :dsm:

having to repair your powertrain after 7K neutral drop......$3000

impressing little girls on the sidewalk........eeehhh not so priceless...

OMG. I think everyone who has seen this thread is now more dumb than they were this morning.

AWD and burnouts do not go hand in hand. Unless you have a shitload of power its not happening, especially with an auto. If you could do it, it would put a good hurtin on your driveline parts.

Whoever said to pull the Ebrake is a moron also. NEVER pull the ebrake in an AWD car. In our it will kill you center diff and VC.

"Hell yeah those two skanky bitches saw me slide in a parking lot, I bet I am the coolest guy they have ever seen."

"I would go take them out later this week but my tranny just shit the bed and I need 1500.00 to get my car running again!!!"

its not like the girls or most ppl will realis4e your trying to spin 4 tires, even if you barked them, they would think your car is weak because you werent spinning out...

if you want to use your AWD for something "cool", go to the track and put down some respectable 60 foot times, and then you will be "cool"

give me your AWD and you can sitll burn the fcuk out of my fwd talon.

i dont agree with that... i clearly stated doing this will cause problems in the long run... i wont do anything lik this, buying a AWD car and tryin to burn out kinda cancelles each other out.... its like studing for a test in class, and then skipping the class?!?

yeah i agree hook me up with your car I have a manual RS that you can do a one legger with whenever you want--and hey ur only two towns over from me so its not even a long drive :thumb:

plus man, i got RIIIIMMMS..that gets the ladies looken

oh yeah neutral drops dont even work, the tranny doesn't engage like a manual tranny does, it will make al sorts of nasty noises and kinda stumble on itself before it gets any power---I call BS on baby blue or whatever, and also why are u smoking the tires in a minivan  who does that impress??? is there anybody like standing in awe of you and your van thinking, "damn those kids are gettin to soccer practice first!" :D :thumb:

AWD + Burnout = $2000.00 in repair bills, :thumbdown

I thought it was funny when i went to the track and this guy told my to burnout to clean my tires, told him there is 2 things wrong with that idea. #2 its an Auto, and 1# Its all wheel drive, and then he starts to yell at me saying its a stock ESI, im like look at the side skirts and then walk around and tell me whats on the bumper.... then i hear an OH I SEE it now.....

I'll take a TSI FWD :D

So you tell him how to do it and that you have done it. Then you tell him not to do it and thatit would be dumb plus you have never done it. :thumbdown

Hey, I never said it was a good idea I just said a way you could maybe get it done :) It's not my fault if people are idiots and actually take that advice to heart.

Have you bumped your head? An awd regardless its going to take a fwd out of the whole. Unless there is a idiot for a driver. :D

thats why i emphisised automatic... the stock awd to fwd is a matter or .2 seconds with a manual, i was mearly comparing the the auto awd vs fwd stick.

why does everyone have to poop on our autos :(

you guys get to launch at 5k, we get to launch at 3 with 15psi... auto on a turbo car is a GOOD thing :) bone stock you will have the advantage, but when we have done the shift kit, end clutches and torque converter and youve got your heavy clutch my money goes to the auto.. launching under boost, faster shifts than you could ever hope to bust and no dropping boost while its doing it=autos arent so bad afterall.. just not as much fun :D

I dont think anyone is bagging on auto's, but for what he is "trying" to do it makes it even harder.

Plus a manual can leave with boost off the line if it is using a 2 step. I am willing to bet that there are a few members on this board that can shift VERY quickly and with a no lift to shift it will make up for a split second of coasting.

yea i tried the "dont take the gas off and still shift fast" and it did it, but the rpms shot up to the rev limiter for like.001 of a second..

has anyone ever launched in 2nd gear? and have any of you FWD guys ridden the clutch out in 2nd gear instead of taing off in 1st and spinning all the way to 60 feet?
