AWD burnout???

Went and test drove a 90 TSI AWD. I launched it at 4500 and spun all four (2 to be technical). Was the rear LSD a factory option on the AWD cars?

You spun just the rears? Or you test drove a car with open front and rear differentials, making one front and one rear spin.

Well, one front and one rear but it looked like all 4 were spinning. The car was in motion as all 4 tires were spinning. I never knew that the LSD was a factory option. I just assumed that it was included with all cars.
While we are on this subject, what would you pay for a 90 Tsi AWD (no LSD) body awesome, runs awesome, interior awesome, bad brakes and a ghetto paint job? Car has 102K on it and when I say it runs awesome, I mean, turbo spools great, no smoke and tranny does NOT grind

$1500-2000. Which turbo does it have? If it's sitting on a used lot, then the correct amount is $0. How much oil does it burn? What shape is the clutch in? Which tires does it have? What's wrong with the brakes?

Burns NO oil. 14B turbo. Clutch is brand new and trans does not grind. It will need new pads and rotors. Only 2K ????

they arent worth much more than that anyway, KBB lists them between 1800 and about 2400, depending on the shape of the car. you said it has a "ghetto paint job" and thats gonna mark it down some.

You can tell if the car has LSD by opening up the driver side door, then look for an orange sticker on the side. Says "WARNING: This car is equipped with LSD" or something of that nature.

so here is another question, if I do have the sticker and the car is bruning all 4s, then is the rear LSD shot?

if it was spinning both rear tires,would'nt that make you think that its doing its job?

The brakes are not an expensive thing to fix, also that way you'll know your brakes are new, but you should find out if the timing belt has been replaced before, and after that try to negotiate for a good price, if you said is in good shape, interioir/exterioir, and good engine, no grinding etc... then you find yourself a good car, but not because of that go there and pay much for it...
remember if the timing belt has not been replaced you need to do it, or make them do it and like I said negotiate a good price, something that your happy with, and you can afford.
