If you really want to do this then just do this....

go into neutral rev up to lik 7 grand or around there... n then shift into drive, now let me tell you, you will be messing up your car... but i have burnt out in various cars this way... dodge caravans, 200sx's, anything you can imagine this can be done... my moms van is AWD, and i've had the tires just bursting with smoke...
If you really want to do this just to play around one day, go ahead...
But dont make it into a habit... buy a RWD car if u wanna burn out for no reason :), me and my friends were thinkin about buyin a cheap crap RWD car and putting on some cheap 50 dollar tires with no grip for burning out use only :)
You now have the knowledge to burn out....

Use it wisely  :shhh: :dsm:

how am i messing with my moms ride?, i just stated A WAY to burn out, dont have a heart attack...
he asked how to do it, i answered, is it my fault? no, i told him do it on your own risk, dont be a smart ass and do it for no reason, but you wont "mess up your ride" from doing it once... you guys keep forgetin he ask how to do it, i answered, sure he's gonna mess up his car, its his problem... not mines not yours, now he knows so let him do what he wants...

the inferance with my moms van was just to say it could be done with a AWD car, it was a accident accually i was at a light n my leg hit the shifter and i was in neutral, and i hit the gas, and it wouldnt move, so i shift down and it just peeled out...

PS boosted11sectsi , i think you missed out on a couple of hugs when you were little, because you need to relax... "jack ass grow up" age aint nothing but a number... i could be 10 years old and whoop your ass so respect each other to get respected... :D :dsm: :thumbdown Come back when your maturity age is higher than your shoe size...

Also dont make this isnt a auto vs manual war

AWD burnouts are done when you have enough hp to do it. Once I cleared 300hp they were easy to do. The more the hp went up the easier they were to do. The only good reason for doing one is to heat up a set of tires or get rocks off the tires if the track you go to has a shitty pit area. The thing that kills the most with AWD burnouts is wheelhop. Some people are too stupid to realize that when the wheels hop the car is paying the price. Whether it be the tranny or the clutch. I've sat for fun and burnout all the way through the burnout box and then in the same run pulled a 1.7 60ft. It was a cold day shitty track and my tires don't really bite without a little heat. Long long burnouts are a waste of time and money. I've seen tons of guys do these on RWD cars only to fair 2.4 60fts.

As far as an automatic doing a AWD burnout. This is avery very bad idea. In order to build up enough torque off the line in a stock A/T your going to heat up your tranny alot. Heat is what kills automatics and if you stall for more than 10 seconds your really putting a lot of stress on the automatic. DONT DO IT. The FWD we had was an automatic putting down over 300hp and I could lite the tures up on that one in 1st and second gear without torqing at all. I could also pull 2.0-2.1 60fts :). If your AWD is not spinning the tires off the line but your still launching hard that is a good thing :).

if AWD wont burn out then Im seeing something...I always thought unless you had alot of power you werent breaking the 4 wheels of a DSM loose on a launch. well my friend proved me wrong. he has a 95 talon awd and with just an intake pipe and filter when he launches the car it spins and pulls hard. hes a pretty good driver and is not dumping the clutch rather slipping it fast from around 4500 and then gunning it spinning all 4 wheels. someone please explain how this is happening and if this is even possible LOL.

Your hijacking this thread with a double post. Noone said the AWD would not do a burnout. This thread was about a AWD A/T doing a burnout.

with a race clutch disk and flywheel it is a lot easier to lite up the tires, slipping the clutch is the exact same as dropping the clutch, it takes 1 pass to catch and when it does it will jerk the wheels hard enough to spin em, but constant awd burn outs is very bad considering that these cars arent evos made a year ago. Well i mean the 2gs would have a little less problems, but a 1g would just lead to problems.

I find it funny LOL, w00t w00t, ever seen a caravan running lik 12 seconds? i've seen one down here in moroso, there are videos around everywhere LOL, thats gotta be awsome... how about this "mini van" i wonder how fast they are getting to socer practice...

I bet you that minivan would take out most if not ALL our cars on here LOL

800 bhp
193.9 MPH
0-60 2.80 seconds...

now thats a minivan to go to "soccer" practice in LOL :p

That is way to cool . I remember somthing about a f1 chassis mini van in Gt1 or 2 ? Anyway awd burnouts are no big thing I spin them quite often and Iam only pushing 300hp. These arent 60 ft smokeys ,more like "Hmm I spun them for a complete rotation"
