Auto-up driver's power window for 2G?

Inspired by another thread here on tuners I found the vfaq tutorial how to hack your window switch to get the auto-up-feature on the driver's side.

Unfortunately that hack is only for 1Gs. Now I'd like to know if there is a way to make my 2G window switch auto-up my window. Does anyone know if that tutorial is applicable on the 2nd gen Eclipses?

And is there any way to get the auto-up and down feature on the passenger's side?

This has been something I've wanted for years for mine. I may just tear apart one of my spare switches tonight to see if there's any similarities.

I could've sworn my Viper alarm's power window module gave me the power down/up options but it's been a while since I had the module installed. That's one avenue you may want to investigate.

I have an older viper alarm installed. my manual doesn't tell me anything about that power window module

The module was a separate module you had to purchase. Allowed remote control of the windows and I swear it added auto-up/down too. Been a while. I got them back in like 2000 so they've been around for a while.

I'll post more tonight after work then. I just did the "top up/down @ any speed" mod the other day. Once I fix the motors it'll work without a problem. I love electronic mods.

Search google for it. It's a $50 module that you add to the drivers window wiring. It adds auto up for the drivers window and auto down & up for the passenger window, controlled from the drivers side.

You'd have to purchase another module to have the passenger control do it as well.

It's a Directed Electronics 530t module.

So I just looked through my spare parts and it turns out I got 3 spare passenger side switches and the only driver side unit is the one in my car. Don't think that'll help. Should be going by the salvage yard this weekend so I'll grab one then.

It would be cool to make that mod happen with just some diods or relays rather than using new modules for 100$. Btw those modules seem to be the Viper modules mentioned before.

Kudos if you figure out a simple mod for the 2G switch.

530T for me tied to a Code Alarm system.

Auto up at alarm arming or before remote start, one touch up or one touch down via driver's side switch on both windows, auto vent both windows during remote start.

It's hard to accomplish all of that with simple mods but the DEI module will handle it nicely. There's still a lot of wiring to do so don't think it's a quick install.
