Auto Transmission Grief

I recently purchased a 1990 Eclispe, 2.0 Turbo with an auto transmission. I have no low gear and my O.D. doesn't work. The car doesn't seem to be changeing from economy to power. The tranny fluid is right where it should beand the other gears seem to work fine. oh yea, it has the four speed auto! Help ... mckjrry LaGrange, In.

Seems like your tranny is in limp mode (3rd gear only). Your capacitors probably need to be replaced (in your ECU and TCM. Your OD gear (4th) might need replacing. All the fixes are relatively easy and cost effective. You can find the DSM A/T bible at www.plymouthlaser.com . Don't lose faith and good luck.

Your OD gear that needs replacing is called the end clutch. The site that 2DSMs suggested has a good VFAQ for how to replace it-- it's easy.
