auto trans problem

i have 1991 eclipse gsx a/t i have park reverse and nuetral when i put it into first and try to shift to secont it wont shift when i put it in drive it still wont shift....its almost like the car is stuck in 2nd or something i can be driving down the highway doing 70mph and i am tacking at like 4200rpms could i be stuck in second?????### HELP

trannys done. when they go some gears will still work like rev 3 so on.

how is your fluid level?when a tranny wont shift that usually means the bands are shot(they call it the bands-shift plates).I hate to say it but time for a rebuild.
