auto trans highway problem

okay my last problem that i am trying to figure out here. I have a 90 N/T automatic talon. My problem is that when i am cruising on the highway (i have a 45 minute drive to work) going about 65 , after about 10 minutes of driving my RPMs start fluctuating. it just consistently goes up down up down up down. it is very annoying. The car surges forward on the up and goes down on the down. like REEE ERRRR REEEEE ERRRR. now my tach is definitely not accurate by all means but its fluctuates about 3-400 rpms. this only happens when my foot is in the gas. if i let off of the pedal the problem goes away until i put my foot back on the gas. Now when i am on the highway and this is going on i have my overdrive on. i thought that the problem was with the overdrive itself so i switched it off and drove in a higher rpm range but after a few seconds the rpm problem came back. I have had alot of non dsm people tell me tons of different ideas as to what i can check but i thought i would ask you good people for help. I searched and only found one thread about the same problem but it didnt have an answer. so if you could please help i would be greatly appreciative.

i had a very similar problem with my 97 GS-T w/ auto trans. Turned out to be the trans computer which caused the trans to start to go. Also make sure to check your trans fluid and make sure its at the right level.

i am not sure its a trans computer doing it. i think there is some other outside problem. but i guess i will look for another computer just in case.
