I have a question regarding full line pressure and using the gear selector to shift gears. There are two apparently popular shift kits available: the forced four and the roadsurge. I'd like to use the gear selector to upshift, instead of the box. Is this possible to maintain the line pressure while shifting manually? or is the box required? If both are capable of this, which do you guys prefer? thanks

I personally prefer to let the shift box handle shifts. The Forced Four box is programmable, and prevents downshifts that would over rev the motor or break the trans. I never was a fan of manually shifting an auto, but if your set on it paddle shifters would be sweet.

I only shift in heavy traffic, to keep it from shifting constantly. I honestly thought with the shift box you had to use the controller to shift. Okay, so that's great to know.
