2G auto to manual tranny conversion?

If i were to lets say buy a 2nd gen talon or eclipse turbo AWD that was an auto would it be very difficult to turn it into a manual? and would it be just as strong as a manual that came out of the factory?

It will be just as strong as the manual from the factory if you get the same one. Hard in what way? Money wise, yes, it's quite expensive. Labor? Not really, it's pretty straight forward but very time consuming. Once you're done with it, most likely there will be little bugs you'll have to fix up.

i believe the manual and auto have different ratio gears in the transfer case and rearend. i'm pretty sure those would have to be changed to the manual ratios.
