When doing a manual swap, is it possible to use a different trim?
My car: 1997 GST Auto
swap to manual from a
1997 GS?
Anything would help. Thank you.

Solution
If it’s 1997 GS Spyder then yes it will bolt up and work but it is a weaker transmission than what comes originally in a GST. If it’s a 1997 Eclipse GS that is not a Spyder then it absolutely will not work as it is a completely different transmission made to be bolted up to a Chrysler engine with an entirely different bolt pattern and lay out. A 95-98 Talon TSI fwd would use the same transmission you need or a 95-99 Eclipse GST, but there are no other models you could use the transmission from. A 1g trans will also not work in a 2g like the 2g trans will work in a 1g.
