I know there's information in this forum about auto to manual tranny swaps but they're kinda scattered and need a straight list of what exactly this process entails so I can make a decision. I bought my first TSi for my wife this past weekend figuring I'd spice it up a bit to make her look even hotter behind the wheel. AWD and turbo was a plus but the auto tranny was a downer...didn't think much of it though until I threw some 18's and dropped it with coilovers. I have to admit...the thing looks pretty phat. So it got me thinking that maybe I'll just go crazy with it....I got unlimited access to any turbo anyway (dealer) so why not look into it. Just gotta figure out what needs to be done.
Besides the obvious: 5 speed tranny, clutch, throw out bearing, master clutch cylinder, clutch pedal
Is there anything else that is needed?...do I have to swap out the whole ECU...wiring harness? Can I leave the stock in there?... is there a way to "trick" the ECU? Do I have to modify anything in the dash/center console? Any additional axles?..will the stock auto ones work with the 5 speed's?? Any info would be awesome....thanks!

I've got a '93 Talon with a '90 M/T 6 bolt, 14b Turbo, and it's damn fun
