Auto part store hard pipes

Would I be able to use those hard pipes that autopart stores (autozone, advance auto, o'reilys, ect) for piping om my smic? There more for intake but It sparng in my had last night to maybe try that, or would they not hold up to pressure?

I'd personally just buy a legit one. The cost of fabbing them up (couplers, pipes, clamps) comes out to almost the same.

Before you buy any hard pipes I would really think about what kind of intercooler you wanna run. If you're going to get a front mount sometime down the road, buying hard piping for that side mount is going to be a waste of time.

x2, couplers alone will cost you 6-20$ and you'll need 2+. If you want to though, I'd say go for it. You basically pay for the the job being already done and the time savings of making one when you pay the pre-made kits. Remember though you'll need to buy a flange adapter you can weld on to bolt on the BOV (15$+). I'd recommend to just buy a used one for around 50$

If you want to stay stock SMIC for a while then I say go for it..But you can buy premade kits for the side mount...It''s your choice...

They're they wrong sizes and shapes anyhow. Or do you mean exhaust bends? Nothing wrong with those, just avoid the crush bent pieces.

Are you talking about making IC piping out of those little Spectre parts.

Just buy legit used ones. The less couplers the better, and I doubt the Spectre parts would hold up.

spectre couplers won't hold boost pressure there not ply or silicone.

I was just wondering. I plan on a smic for a long time, I cant find any used kits I seen a new one on exrteam psi for almost 400$.

Is that the price for piping only? Upper Intercooler Pipe Throttle 1G DSM Eclipse Talon | eBay this is a cheap price for a piping system for SMIC new. I recently sold a SMIC pipe for 1g, so I'm sure if you wait one will come up.

In that case, I'd suggest waiting a bit, they usually pop up used on ebay or in the classifieds (Brand usually being Dejon). They used to sell them new not too long ago, seems they stopped making them.

would there be a way to fit a gm maf on regular soft pipes? The reason im looking for hard pipes is so cause my car has old, beat up, probobly leaky, soft pipes and I figured that If I am going to replace them why not step up?

I'd just buy a used upper pipe and cut it apart. Use a homemade flare tool and BAM! Two ends just waiting for a MAF.

I don't see why you can't arrive at this destination for less than $50

Drop the T and one of those $. With the remaining $$$ you can get V3 for your MAF.
