Asking too much?

I'm trying to sell my '96 GS. I'm asking $5000 for it, with 112k miles. The cars in pretty good condition, has a few minor problems but I guess that's expected for an older car. It's got $1000 of audio equiptment. I was just wondering what you all think of this price, I mean the car runs well and all. It just seems as though people that I talk to feel that I'm asking too much.

Personally, i would not spend over 2500 on a non-turbo. Saying that, i got my n/t for 725 bucks but ya, even with the stereo i think it should be less than 4k

I'm trying to find a TSi 1g (preferably) or 2g for 3k or less. And thats not going well. I dunno if they sell for more, though people on this forum seem to say that I can find one for 1.5k to 2k.... how they find these deals I do not know. SoCal resident looking for 1g or 2g for cheap!

I would say that you are asking way too much. I got my GST from a dealer for only $3995 with less miles and very few problems, most were sorted out before we bought it. One thing to note is that you are not going to get the $1000 for the speakers, aftermarket things on a car never sell for what you payed for them on your car. So if I were you I would take it all out cause you aren't going to get much at all for it. The car I personally wouldn't pay more than $2500. I know that isn't what you want to hear but it is the truth.

im sorry man sure 2g's are very very nice cars, but i can get a 2g for 2-3 grand right now..i cant even sell my 1g i spent so much money into it that i cant get it back for the price that i wanted.. thats what happens when u put $$ on it.. take the system out and sell for around 2,500 cash.

I see Got my RS 95 with 70 K for 4700...It's all about Mileage when you sell. I'd say 4000K. Are you selling it privatly?

Well, I checked blue book value and thats around like $4500. And yes, I'm selling it privately, I'd never trade it in. I'd get nothing for it.

i think your asking too much but hey i don't know anything. what i learned when i though about selling my car was that unless there is a good market for what you got (turbo AWD) then your never going to get the blue book =/ i'd take the system out and sell it or use it agian i <3 my system from my old car and i'm glad i saved the 200 bucks the guy was going to pay me for it but hey its your choice if someone will buy it then your not asking too much =)
