on a 500hp build is it important to have arp main studs? i have the headstuds are mainstuds important also?
sorry n000000b question:barf:

YES! Please pick them up and get them on there. You will need to have your mains checked for roundness with the new studs installed however as they have a different torque rating.

Keep in mind that with main studs on a 7-bolt, the stock oil pan will not fit over the two on the "shallow end" of the pan.

Some people say stock main studs can handle over 600HP. I'm sure they can but personally I like buying new studs since the main journals may be the most important part of the engine. If you do replace them be sure to use a LOT of the moly lube that comes with it, torque to ARP's specs and you need to cut off the mount from your oil pick up tube that bolts to the stock main stud. At least thats how it is on a 6 bolt. Should be the same on a 7 bolt.
