yea...it only does at 2k rpms.

Two things!

1 : Worn out/reused Timing Belt Idler/Tensioner pulley.

2 : Incorrect tension on the autotensioner.

It won't cause any damage...yet. But you may want to check them. I know it's a pain in the ass but that's what it narrows down to. Starts at about 2krpm, goes away by 2500, correct?

correct... so goin have to pull it off?

Edit: It will do it sometimes when you start the car? if that helps to.

Man, I sure hope those problems don't alter your lifestyle or threaten your ability to work and support your family. :aha:

Well the insurance adjuster contacted me today and told me just by the description i gave him he thinks ole red is totaled out. Im still going to work everyday i just wear a knee brace all day. Kinda a pain in the ass but its whatever.

Usually when you start the car your idle is up around the 2k range.

Go ahead and check these things as they are the most severe. The only other thing it could remotely be are lifters.

Yeah its totaled out:cry: but get the option to buy it back. Probably going to buy it back. Sorry you can't have the harness. Hey Al you still got the BOV? Anyways the insurance company hasn't made an offer on the car yet. I think their going to have an offer for me tomorrow. I think I'm going to buy James shell and transplant my engine and trans into it. By my calculations this far into it buying his car and swapping the engine is going to be cheaper way out of this situation. Unless my quote from the body shop is less than what James wants for his shell. Just a fender and a door from the junk yard is $250 and I'm still going to have to have the car repainted + the quarter panel re skinned\. The only draw back to the shell is that its an auto car. So I'll have my work cut out for me to do the swap plus mines fwd and his was awd. So again more work ahead of me. So I'm going to need my harness for the swap.

That sounds like a pretty good plan man I wish I coups do the dsm again but money is tight and I can't swing having 3 cars

Could* damn autocorrect

It won't be that bad at all. The car being an automatic will not prevent you from directly swaping over everything provided the car you are swaping into still have the auto trans in the car. In that case all you would have to do is drop the motor in and not touch the transmission. If its missing the auto tran then you would need to sought it out. and auto trans harness(not the engine harness) but the auto car should already have the harness dangling in the shell-if not removed-.

Don't forget things like the converter, flexplate, crank ring, etc.

sale is pending on the bov, ill let you know by Thursday if its still available.

+1 not really sure what is involved if you throw a manual transmission in an auto car. Wouldn't the cables run in just about the same place as the auto cables? Not sure about wiring and all that either.

Let me know luke. If you need space I can make some, a couple of devoted weekends and we could fix ya right up.

On another note. I have decided to not go stroker, with a FWD it just seems like it would do more harm than good. I really don't plan on doing a AWD Swap.

I do however still have a 4 bolt rear end, I still need to do research on dropping a 1gb into a 2g. I don't think its theasable.

Hey Will see tomorrow... if not i have to rid of it i cant afford to keep putting money in it.:nono:

Ugh. x.x Give me a burger and fuel and I'll come Diagnose and fix what's fixable Saturday afternoon.

Wow....... the money pit claims another victim. The damn car is practically new under the hood. rebuilt engine with numerous new parts. I know the trans is a new used part with 90xxx miles on it that Spencer spent 900 bucks on. Is the idle still the problem? On another note I got an offer for Ole Red today. After buying Red back and paying the tow bill I'm walking away with a little over 4k in my pocket.

You could put your fwd stuff in the car, remove the rear end and axles. It would just be fwd with AWD rear frame parts. Sell the auto rear and transfer case or trade for manual stuff and when you get a trans go AWD. You could even sell the harness and use your harness, it wouldn't be that bad I don't think.

Wait I had a buddy say that the outer axle cup and nut hold the bearing on

Thats is nice bro. what's the next step? How is your leg/knee?

Welcome to the area, I just got in all of my clutch swatch parts in this weekend and will be trying to get mine back on the road this month. Since school is starting and I teach it may go slow for awhile until things steady themselves in September.

Nice build by the way I'll definitely have to come check it out. Also I see that you have ECMLink 3, is it full or lite? You are certainly closer for me to come take a look at it and decide if I want to go link or a flashable ECU.

For sure man! My car is no where near where i want it to be. But slowly with time and money itll get there! It ecm link full. very good program.
