It -is- starting to look like Meet weather.

Just finished popping in my Clevite 77's and torquing them down. Tomorrow I'll reinstall the oil pan and transfer case. From there I have to pop my lifters and rockers back in and she'll be purring again.

:) Fresh bearings = better abuse tolerance.

Luke's wife has one of those, it's an NA but it isn't bad at all..

Haha, if the wife would let me and the gixxer wasn't outa commission. ;)

I'd actually like to get some real times on it. Keep the front down, all about clutch controll. 70 mph in first? I think so :p

ya we HAD to get the SXL model. For some reason my wife needs every option in a car. Im still trying to wrap my head around spending over $34k on a kia.

I am having starting issues. The car is getting spark, fuel, wire harness to CAS is good, new plugs, new wires............still no start. I am really stumped.

Anybody local want to help me out. I will throw in some TSi OEM sway bars for anybody that can solve my problem. Located in LR AR.

Just purchased the car yesterday. Drive from MO to AR. Overheated on way back. Coolant was low. Stopped and filled radiator drove on home. Car doesn't smoke and ran really good yesterday. This morning it started up on first turn. Stalled out 10 seconds later and has not restarted since.

I have not checked it. Didn't think the sensor would cause a no start. Now that I think about it, maybe over heating the engine killed the sensor. I will get one of these tomorrow and fix it asap.

I had a NA 2g talon a long time ago. After than I went to SR20s, then Q45s, then G35s, now I am back modding DSMs but have never dealt with a 4G63. I am pretty good at figuring stuff out and researching.

Now I have to find the correct OHMs for the sensor. I plan on ordering a FSM soon.

from reading several post, some say it will some say it wont. At this point I am willing to try anything

When a coolant temp sensor goes bad, it will read in the very low Negative numbers, making the ECU dump extra fuel to create heat as it believes it is -40* out. This, most of the time, will -not- cause a No-Start immediately, but will lead to flooding and that, as we all know, is a no start issue.

Pull the plugs, clean them, use some sand paper to get rid of the soot, put them back in, pull the injector connections, and turn the car over. It will likely pop once or twice and then start. It will run for 1-2 seconds and then die. From there you are free to plug them back in and try to start it again.

Go ahead and replace the CTS if you believe it is bad. Ensure that you have spark on all cylinders. When a Coil goes, it will usually go and take two cylinders with it. You will either have 1&4 not fire or 2&3 in most cases. Same goes for a PTU (Power Transistor Unit) when it goes bad. It usually takes out the capability for one of the coils to fire. You can tell once you have the car running though. It'll idle horribly and will only run if you give it a little gas.

Check your MAF, Fuel Delivery, Coils, PTU, Plugs, Wires, etc. Go ahead and get it all taken care of at once. Also, how did you ensure that your timing is proper?

GREAT NEWS CAR IS FIXED.

Turns out the motor was really really flooded. Sat over night and still would not start. Removed plugs, unclipped the injectors, turned the motor over till all the fuel shot out. Put everything back together and used some starter fluid..........she fired right up. Been running fine all morning. No codes except injector code from unclipping them.

Good stuff. Glad that worked for you. Now find out why it flooded.

Flooded from me turning it over trying to start it. Initial problem was the plugs were tore up. By the time I figured that out it was flooded. New plugs couldn't fire cause the engine was flooded.

Great news to see everyone making some progress. My wife totaled to her escape is week hitting a deer which has spurred me to finish the talon back up and I am glad to say that she is purring nicely. Had a few water leaks that ironed themselves out after it warmed up and a few oil leaks at the valve cover but those will work themselves out with some more tightening.

On a side note, we will be picking up a 2012 Dodge Charger with the 8 speed transmission to replace the wife's car. I'm debating n cop car white or gun metal silver...
