Was the title a rebuild title since you got it from the auction or was it clean? I haven't purchased anything from the Lincoln Auction but been tempted as they have some interesting cars there occasionally.

Well I finally dropped the head off at the machine shop after finishing the porting and polishing that I wanted.

Getting the head decked, a valve job, hot-tanked and cleaned, and the valves/springs reinstalled. Should take a few days and they quoted me 160$ from Macon Motorsports in Springdale, AR. Felt pretty good about the price, especially after looking around their shop and seeing some AMAZING cars and some serious equipment.

Hope to have the car back together within 2 weeks to hit up the tracks that are opening up in March. It seems that the local autox group has been disbanded due to no "good" locations to use anymore. Guess It'll be driving to Tulsa and Sallisaw oklahoma for me for track times.

Yea Little Rock is about a 3 hour trip for me while Tulsa is only 1.5 and I can hit AutoX in the morning, grab lunch, then hit the strip at night

Centrville is a long drive for me.. Do they do day test and tune? I if anyone knows. I would like to take the bike also, but don't want to ride 4hrs round trip just to go home in the dark...

If they do, I would be down for a meet there....

Auugggh. Auto transmissions are apparently few and far between. This is getting annoying. Good news is that the Talon runs. Bad news is that the new auto Talon needs a new trans and I can't seem to find one that isn't full of glitter and just don't have the tools to rebuild it.

Yeah, the one I looked at was full of fine metal glitter and a few chunks of scared metal from who know what.
