Would have been a nice color for a metallic gun metal.

The magnets looked like they had spikes growing from them with the oil and metal flakes sticking to them.

As many filter changes I've done there's always a lot of shavings on the magnets but you always have to remember. Theirs a reason why this thing is in the junk yard. LOL. I finally got my turbo drain and fitting for the 14b today. I had to stay up usps's ass for 2 weeks but I finally got it. The last tracking scan I had for awhile was that it left Little Rock on Jan. 30th. I just picked it uo today 2-23-13 :nono:

Cleaning up the bowls and runners a little.

Glad you decided to try it out. What tools are you using? Here are some pictures often before I took it to get decked and cleaned. I also buffed the inside of the runners with a crossbuff (basically a ball of scrotchbright pads on a shank).

Just a dremel with the sand paper drums. Using the attachment that has the cable and small grip it's easy to control and get in the tight places.

I'm just taking out the rough casting finish. I also removed all the cast flashing on the inside of the head and opened up the oil returns. One return was almost completely blocked off.
 
I know there is someone here, just can't recall who, whom is running the XTD 2300# plate. Whoever the heck that was, what does your peddle pressure feel like? Do you feel an obvious point where the clutch disengages or is it pretty fluid all the way to the floor?
 
today is the day!!!!! gsx brake swap ahead and cruise control delete.... if I have enough beer left battery relocation.... if I have even more beer!!!!!...... socket the pcm big ambition if I can get my ass outta bed.

It's a bit chilly out here this morning. Finishing up a little wiring then firing the Talon up to look for coolant leaks. Believe I fixed them all. :3 If so she's ready to move.
 
You're telling me. I want that perfect weather from 3 weeks ago back. Also!

Let the car run for a half hour. Shifts into all gears flawlessly! Even moved her and inch or two back and forth. Fans aren't kicking on however. Hrm. Had to use the AC button. AC needs charged also. Kinda lame. Also keep forgetting that I have air pockets in the system due to thag coolant leak and the engine being entirely dry so I keep getting scared when the coolant burps. Lol. She sucked up the coolant overflow after the thermostat opened, though. Hopefully there isn't much air left.
 
Ugh I hate this weather, I'm ready to get this thing back together but it's wayyyy to cold in the garage.

Man are you complaining about having a garage? LOL I guess you dont know what it's like to work on a car in the back yard with muddy mushy wet grass under. LOL
 
Kei it is I(ucwutIdidthur??) that is running the xtd 2300# it feels/felt great. Only chatter I had was on the initial break in. Then after that it almost felt stock I loved it.

And on that note this guy needs a new block and crank. I prefer 7 bolt and a fresh uncut crank that will only need polished at most. So if anyone has one available help a brotha out! :) I'll have the motor and tranny pulled tomorrow and I'm starting on my wire tuck and bay cleaning while I'm saving money and waiting on parts :(

Hmm, I gots one, I haven't looked to really see what it needs. Il check it out and get back to yah.

Crank I mean.

I would let the block go, but not knowing the status of the block in the gst I would like to hold off.... Since I plan on going stroker a crank really isn't that big of a deal.
 
Not sure if this one does, but even so, it still may be cheaper. Just come get it, or I could meet in searcy one day this/next week
 
Thinking about selling the second Talon. Runs and everything, just needs the trans rebuilt or replaced and I don't have the time to do it while working on the silver talon. Good condition. Has a dent on the driver side front fender. Auto - Any interest? Perhaps know of someone who might be looking for a good 2G AWD?
 
Damnit if only, I would swap the fwd tranny i got in there.... I know a guy that likes to rebuild autos over manuals (for some reason) at very reasonable prices he would probably charge about 300$ without parts.


Did I tell you guys when I had the white devil I had a "tranny shop" quote me a price to rebuild the 5 spd. They wanted 1200$ without parts and that's IF I pulled the trans. I tried hard not to laugh...
 
u need someone to rebuild a tranny for you? I got a shop I do bench rebuilds at if you wanna pull ill l you buy the parts you want and ill rebuild it for you if you want. I cant do it till after next week... im finishing up a 700r4 Friday and doing a t56 next Monday and Friday I have a montaro tranny im rebuilding which sucks
 
First time posting.. but anyways i was wondering if someone can help me out here i was looking under my car and noticed there was this small red and white wire unplug and it was stripped, so i was wondering if someone knew what this wire is and where is it supposed to be hook up to :rocks: The location of the wire is by the alternator...

im posting this on here cause I don't want any close family knowing... My girlfriend might be pregnant im so excited!!!!! we getting blood work done tomorrow!!!! DO YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS??? Finally have my excuse to find a vr4 gallant!!!!!!
