Hi I'm looking for people close to prairie grove that might be able to help me with my 90 eclipse gst

Hey, I live in Prairie Grove, you wouldn't happen to own the Red eclipse that was on Blunt yesterday were you? If so you literally were across the street from my shop.

Yea that's me I thought ## car looked familiar

Ha, yea I figured you would be on the forums eventually. I actually spent about 20 minutes looking over your car as it is quite clean (although a quick respray of the black trim is in order...we can fix that easily).

How long have you had it? Any mods? And more importantly, what issues are you having with it to request help?

As you can see, mine is tore apart into pieces all over the garage as I finish my rebuild.

Well I've had it for about 2 weeks picked it up for a grand and it wasn't running I preddy much just gave it a tune up and
it started running but I think the Turbo might need rebuilt it's putting out grey smoke when first being ran
And its now leaking gas from the injectors

O and to my knowledge its stock but its been a little molested

Smoke could be a few things depending on the color, is it white, blue, or black? If it is closer to grey it could be a fuel issue, did the PO have any performance parts on it and put it back to stock maybe? You could be running rich but I would assume if you are leaking fuel you may be running quite lean.

As for the leaky injectors, that is probably o-rings which are cheap and you can pick up at Lowes or Home Depot.

Where did you pick it up? I've always wanted a 1ga, too bad it's only a GST though :p LOL

I'd much rather replace a turbo than a head gasket which I am doing at the moment. Good luck and let us know how it goes. If you still can't figure it out let me know and you can swing by sometime and ill look at it.

And if your injectors are leaking fuel, you probably got a boost leak from the same spot.

Bobby knows what size grommet you need for seals. And are they upper or lower seals?

If they are leaking fuel I would assume they are the top seals but I would also say the bottom seals needs to be replaced.

Does the white smoke disappear once its away from the muffler or does it continue to stay in the air?

I would imagine there are several boost leaks to be honest. A boost leak tester would be a tool you want to make and keep handy.

Agreed, if it is injector seals that are leaking we can replace them from Lowes for <10$ for both bottom and top. As for the boost leak tester, I can do that for you as well if you find a day later this week as it is something I try to do weekly on my car (especially with shitty roads knocking things around).

You should throw up some pictures of the engine bay, interior, and exterior, and maybe a video of the smoke that should help everyone get you started on the right track.

Any prior automotive experience? If not owning a DSM will turn you into a straight mechanic....if you stay in the game long enough LOL

Yeah, you will learn a lot working on these cars. Just make sure you do regular maintenance and take care of it. They are fun cars and great engines.

True that, I bought one. Once I opened the box I was like well ####, I coulda made that ;)

You will be amazed about what leaks when you hook some air up to it. I had to put the air tank in the house because its so small that it turns on almost instantly LOL

i was at the spot with my tsi Saturday too... no one saw me...? hell yeah im down to come look at a car if you need a quick diagnostic service I can come look for you... hell I work at advance in little rock you need seals I can get em from work just let me know I probably got a t25 for sale with exchange if you need one and I got a boost leak tester as well but need a new coupler to fit t25 like a 3 inch to 2 inch coupler...

The 1G blow off valve is a very effective and efficient BOV. A lot of people trust in those to over 25psi on larger turbos. Mine held 28PSI from my modified T04E back in the day.
