When's your parts coming in? What do you need a diff. for? :hmm:

It all came in last week. Just ordered timing tool kit and few other items today. The diff will come in handy when i am ready to do THE swap to my eclipse (we talk about it briefly; not auto).

Badass. :D No air compressor to do a boost leak test with.

-_-;

KIA, hows that Talon coming along? Did you get the sputtering issue figured out? The same thing happened to me with my gsx after we did the 6bolt swap. We couldn't control the rich fuel mixtures with link either. The injectors weren't responding to the link and was dumping alot of fuels. We had to stop and wait a few times for the fuel to dissipate in order to diagnosis the problem -we were afraid we were going to wash the cylinders rings down with the excess fuels-. I don't remember what was done but, it was the same issue with the start up at first. Sputtering and rich black smoke etc...

Finally got my last box of items in from JNZTuning to finish putting things back together as I work on the head. I gotta say that they have been EXCELLENT to work with. Will definately be going back to them over ExtremePSI (primarily due to price) as they are both great companies.

On a side note, I have discovered that if you "ask" for any stickers they have laying around most shops will throw in anything they have from packages and vendors they purchase from. I have amassed a nice collection of different vendors that I will be using to "man up" my garage to have a little more character.

Yep, I usually ask them to throw stickers in every box, jnz sent a couple of giant ones...

But not to sound dumb, I do like stickers on a modded car, now my cutlass on the other hand will never get stickers on her as long as she is stock, I infact debaged it and eraser wheeled the stupid ass pin striping off. Gold on a red car looked dumb as hell LOL . Different strokes I reckon.

What did you end up doing on the heads?

I finished taking the head apart yesterday and looked in the bowls and runners. There is a sharp transition in the bowl from milling for the valve seat and some jagged casting lines.

My approach is to blend the sharp edges and gasket match the port openings. I will not port the runners, just smooth out the rough castings. I don’t want to harm the low end of the power band by screwing with the runners.

When I’m done I will send it to be hot tanked, checked for flatness, and a fresh three angle valve job.

Actually found a good read with good pictures to explain the process :thumb:

I ended up only smoothing out the runners with a gasket match as I don't want to affect the characteristics as you mentioned. I am still waiting on my dremmel carbide burrs before I do the bowls which will be simply smoothing cast and a few of the angles that you mentioned as well.

After all of the headwork is doing I will send it out as well for a fresh decking and hot tanking. I will be lapping the valves myself on this rebuild as waiting on the shop to do it would (1) cost more than it needs to and (2) cause a 2 week delay due to their backup. I feel that I will simply lap the valves myself, and once the springs are back in do a fresh hydro-test to see any potential leakage. I didn't have any timing belt problems and had 180 compression across the board so I am not expecting any issues.

waiting for my BC1100 springs to come in as well any day not so I can get everything started soaking in oil as I finish up the head. I bought new 3g lifters, BC1100 springs, and STILL debating cams which may wait for a few more months.

Tax Season is about done. Finding them that cheap is going to be few and far between for about a month.

Sooo, incredibly disappointed that Aliens colonial marines, the game I spent 100$ on, the game that gearbox had over 6 years to create, was outsourced from gearbox and pushed out. If you had your eye on such a game. Don't make a mistake.... It's trash. I wil never by a gearbox game ever and I hope sega sues them into bankruptcy over this...

I have played better ps1/2 games. It's gawd awful and the multiplayer is nothing special (playing a XENO is like playing a 600pnd person)

Lame!

I almost bought it, until I watched the reviews. I was so sad. :/ Looked forward to it.

Sweet. Whenbwe meet up for that trans I'll bring mine if you're up for it still.
