So I made some nice progress with the car due to nice weather and the wife gone all day.

Powerwashed, sandblasted, cleaned, and painted the intake wrinkle black. Cleaned the throttle body. Reassembled all of the intake.

I really like the VHT but it seems that it is temperamental to ambient temps as well as needs to be laying flat to get the best wrinkle.

Also ported the FP bt28 to accommodate my FP manifold. Tried not to open up the waste gate exit to keep boost levels as the t28 sees boost loss and not spikes.

Just tearing things down.

I Almost have the block ready to send to the machine shop to be hot tanked and inspected.

Pulled a few parts from the car. Getting ready to pull the rear interior and top.

While at my sons baseball practice was researching on limited slip differentials.

Nice man! Looks really good, I actually took your VHT exhaust manifold idea and did it earlier today. Turned out better than I could've hoped for.

Love the progress you're making. Even with low funds you're still getting with it.

Here's the exhaust mani. done, actually baked mine and turned out pretty damn good.

Getting everything ready for the holset install, I've got pretty much everything ordered and done, also setting up the evo 8 ecu. Ready to start tuning with this guy. Also retorqued my head bolts down to 88ft/lbs, they were surprisingly not as torqued as they should've been.

You should be able to get that for that convertible top and stuf. As far as a rear I'd get a vlsd or a 2 way lsd for it I do believe you can get them from a 300zx or a newer 240 just gotta look

So anyone else like the ASCA? Arkansas state car association

Or was it ASAA? A stare automobile association?

can't remember. Might start a Facebook group if everyone likes the name?

Get pictures and events going. We will need to get a group photo next time. But until then I might have y'all send my some good pics in and make a collage.(sp?)

I don't care how we set it up. If the group wants admin access or just an individual it's good with me.

I do want to see it go.

Done a little this afternoon on the engine.

So how was the HF die grinder.

So how was the HF die grinder.

It worked great, I started on the head today. It's a little awkward to hold and I wish I would have grabbed the variable router controller to slow it down a bit for an extra 15$. It works good for cast iron and steel because it doesn't have the risk that aluminum has. It's honestly not even that loud either which is good so you can still hear after you work on stuff unlike my jet engine air compressor. I've Decided to go slow and only smooth the head out until I can find a bigger air compressor and a long shank bit with smaller sanding rolls. The ones I have now are a 4" shank with 2 inch rolled sand paper which is good for big area but may cause some issues trying to work the bowls.

Also I have some dirt and corrosion around te valve seats, you think if I hit this with a dremmel and a brass wire brush but it will damage them? I am going to be lapping the valves before decking and hot tanking the head.

Send me the info. The block hot tank may be on the waiting list.

I hope to make 1200 or better on the top frame, parts, and rear interior.

If your going rebel rebuilders to do the work still you will be on a waiting list. I was but they tend to work you in quicker if they can see that your serious about wanting your engine. When I dropped off my engine they told me 8-10 weeks and just talking to them they worked me in rather quickly and I got it back in about a month. Great guys. They have one of the sweetest Chevelles I have ever seen. Plus a T/A with like 6k miles on it. You should try and sweet talk them into seeing it. You won't be disappointed. On another note I'm bringing the Talon to Little Rock either Wednesday or Thursday. Going to try and either do the motor install this weekend or next. Depending on what the wife has planned . She can make working on the car a little difficult at times but I still love her.

ok so I was driving my car yesterday at the mall and my clutch goes crazy... like one I had in my rt/tt stealth so I ripped my tranny out and 2 springs from the clutch disk were rolling around in my housing. I bought a new transmission to oem spec for street driving and the freeway rolls. I have a clutch delema. I have a xtd stage three supposedly in front of me, and im comparing it to my sachs hd clutch... the xtd has bigger fiber patches in it... but my sachs clutch has double springs... any suggestions.
