I chopped off the cat which was welded in place making the exhaust a single piece the entire length. I rigged up a slip fit piece with my new o2 bung for now until I get the piping and vband clamps for the real exhaust.

This is the eclipse taken today LOL. We got alot!

Looks like here. I spent 3 hours digging my car out to get to work, only to get sick from it. -.-;

We don't get any snow but it sure is still cold. I spent yesterday crawling under the car back and forth mocking up the exhaust. It is definitely rigged right now but should work until I get a 3" downpipe and cutouts. Then the wideband will be relocated closer to the front of the car. I currently have the new bung in a pipe where the cat use to be so it can route through the factory rear o2 hole and the controller tucked under the armrest. I know not the best location but as I said, just a mockup until the new exhaust.

On a sidenote I feel like I got frostbite laying on the concrete, guess I didn't need snow after all LOL.

What's the going price for a cat at a local scrap shop? Cutting mine out today for the wideband install.

It really does depend on the person or place you sell it too. I sold my cat from the gst and got $90 for it and that was from a guy who buys them. Then I sold the cat from the Talon and got $70 for it from the salvage yard in Beebe. Like I said it does really depend on person or place. You would probably get a better price if you find a guy who buys cores vs a salvage yard.

Awesome find, this will definitely save me some time in recouping some money on the car.

I finally got everything mocked up on the car with a nice slip fit where the factory system use to connect to the cat so that the downpipe can actually be removable and make working on the car much easier. I just need to tack the piping together underneath the car a little more and then drop it to do the final welding and things should be good to go.

I also decided to order a nice new soldering station with adjustable power ranges so that I can repair some spots on the wiring harness that I need to do. My current soldering iron took a shit on me and didn't work anywhere close to how it should.

Also, while I'm waiting for the serial cable to USB to come in to adjust the LC-1 I decided to start building a new rolling welding cart for my welder which has a built in welding table on the top of it so that I can roll my projects around the garage without being tied to a single location.

I'm going to take some pictures of this and probably post it to my build log as well because others may find it a fun project to tackle with some scrap metal that you have around the shop or from the scrap heap.

They also have an iPhone app, but it's $10. They update the prices daily on the app tho.

I like the option of texting pics to them and they send a reply of the dollar amount. Cheaper that way LOL

Happy new year to everyone.

Y'all be safe out tonight and have a good time.

Likewise, hopefully the new year brings good things to you all...such as 1.5 seconds off your 1/4 slips...

I'm spending my night in the garage wiring up my LC1 harness and drinking some cider. Can't drink and drive if your ride is tore apart.

Sounds like a plan there.

As soon as the weather get nice I'm cleaning out the garage and having a sale. I have to make some room so I can get serious on my build.

I need room for the car, big screen tv, fridge, and couch. I want a DSMtuner banner made for the garage. I'm not big on stickers on the car. The banner would be a great place to stick them.

I like that, I also recommend a nice big whiteboard, they are 8$ for a 3' x 4' panel at Lowes. I have started putting my parts stickers as a border around it as well so it can travel with me if I move.

Well the plan for tonight WAS to finish soldering in the LC1 harness but it got so damn cold outside that my soldering iron was not wanting to cooperate so I guess I will put it off. We need another 60 degree day so I can finish up all of these projects...

I more than likely have a buyer for the bike, and might be getting a cousin of a dsm. Just change one letter

Jdm? Bump for 100 pages!!!

On another note. I found this gem in Cabot. Might be able to work something out, since my bike will never be seen again. :banghead:

It's a cbr1000rr for 6200. The bike blue books for over 7.. And I absolutely love the canary yellow wings on blue.
