Are there Benefits to Larger Oil Pan?

Are there benefits to having a larger oil pan... how many more quarts can you get in there?

Where do you get the bigger pan?

Moroso builds a bigger pan for six bolt motors. One advantage is that it is baffled with hinged doors so that you virtually eliminate the possiblity of starvation. I believe that it holds two quarts additional to the stock capacity. Naturally, if you got one, i'd fill until the dipstick said "full" and see how many it took.

additional oil will simply spread out any particulate in the oil over a larger volume, and may stay cooler, but i'm not sure. There are some online resources that describe the benefits of larger pans for racing.

I would agree with Slugs above. In addition, it probably won't do you any good unless you are doing a lot of autocross.
