Resolved Are Eclipses American Engine or Japanese?

I've heard that the Eclipse is Japanese engine and some say they are American engine. I'm confused...

I think they are combo. of Mitsu and Garrett parts. I know the second gens at least have a Garrett cartridge(center portion of turbo).

I think he is talking about the engines, not the turbo's specifically. Correct me if I am wrong.

All 2G turbo engines are Mitsu's. The 420A 2.0L is a Chrysler. The 2.4l NA is a Mitsu.
