I was told by a buddy that the "BR" I see punched in to my head is verification my head was indeed done by buschur. I am not claiming it is. However previous owner said it was "built motor" LOL @ what that means?

I have attached some pics of the casting mark. Does anyone else have input?

Thanks! I find myself using the wrong verbage a lot.

The "BR" is indeed punched; not casted. I was mostly trying to iterate that it was not hand scribed

Yeah; I figured as much to begin with. The person wasn't a "DSM'r" so I didn't really believe him. Most people would go to a local machine shop to have the head serviced...who knows

That is the plan Monday; to call buschur and simply ask. however I figured someone might have known to some degree who would work on cylinder heads and then punch them with initials...

Any other Dsm shops with a BR acronym?

Any engine/transmissions we sell out of the yard we stamp with the owners initials, it's pretty funny how many times we ship stuff out of state, get a call saying that our engine is junk and we get an unstamped block back with the matching marker writing on it and the shops freak out when we call them on their BS. I say call them. but it might also be something else.

Thanks for the input guys. coming from the LSx world everything is fancily marked by the high end companies.

I would assume ANY shop; like you guys said, would put a small mark to prove it was indeed them who serviced it. I shot an email to the titled "shop manager" at buschur and got a generated reply that he is on vacation this week and to contact the shop. I will hopefully have some insight if it was indeed buschur soon

Or just a simple phone call. They don't machine anything in house. It is the machinist directly across the street from them who does their work. Wakeman Power.

I had talked to them today, they informed me they punch customer initials and not in that particular spot
